Surface solutions specialist Oerlikon acquired Coeurdor, a leading full-service provider for the design, manufacturing and coating of metallic components to world-leading luxury brands. Reed Smith advised Oerlikon, while Lamartine Conseil and BPS advised Coeurdor. This acquisition allows Oerlikon to expand its product range and to complement its current offering in the luxury decoration market.
Oerlikon provides innovative surface solutions, such as PVD (physical vapor deposition) coatings for metal and plastic components, diamond-like coatings (DLC) and surface coating systems, as well as additive manufacturing powders and printing services for customers in the aerospace, automotive, medical and tooling markets. Headquartered in Maîche, France, Coeurdor designs and manufactures components and uses PVD and sustainable electroplating for the finishing of luxury goods.
Reed Smith advised Orrlikon on issues ranging from corporate, regulatory and labour and employment law.
