Amy Yates was one of the first professionals to specialise in data privacy

The Luxury Law Alliance advisory board has welcomed a new member into its ranks – Facebook global privacy counsel Amy Yates.

Recently featured in the Global Legal Post’s ongoing Q&A series, Amy is passionate about the data privacy field and was one of the first professionals in the field more than two decades ago.

As she said in her Q&A feature of the privacy profession’s growth: “In the beginning, we were like a small rural town – everybody knew everybody.

“The profession has grown remarkably, but there is still a real sense of community about it. It is a profession that is grounded in making ethical choices. For most of us, this sense of camaraderie, accountability and transparency defines us personally and professionally.”

Brands represented by advisory board members include Hadrian Beltrametti-Walker, vice president, legal services, Kempinski Hotels, Victoria Davies, head of legal, Twitter UK and Kate Wilkinson, group general counsel and corporate secretary, Mulberry.
