Cardshark files lawsuit over Gucci iPhone case

The luxury company is facing allegations of patent design infringement.

Gucci is bring sued over its iPhone cases that feature credit card holders. Cardshark has filed a lawsuit against the Italian fashion and accessories house in a New York federal court, stating that the luxury brand had infringed upon its patented design. Cardshark’s design 'generally relates to a wireless handheld device protective wallet covering with certain features, including a window housing on the front side of the product, a rear protective face, with an externally accessible pocket the allows the insertion and removal of cards or paper currency.' The company is claiming that Cardshark 'has suffered and will continue to suffer damages in an amount to be proven at trial'. Gucci has yet to respond to the allegations.
